The FMCSA mandates that commercial drivers operating vehicles with a maximum gross vehicle weight rating of over 10,000 pounds are required to obtain and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (ME Certificate)

From basic physicals to more comprehensive “Fit for duty” exams, we can help. We can work with your company to customize our exams to your needs.

We are proud to offer comprehensive physicals for firefighters including PFTs, Chest X-ray, Treadmill Test, and the whole package! We are up to date on NFPA 1582 guidelines and ready to serve your entire department in-house! We are the only company in our area offering these services in our office! Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) are noninvasive tests that show how well the lungs are working. The tests measure lung volume, capacity, and rates of flow for workers exposed to potentially dangerous levels of dust. We can also sign off on your respirator fit questionnaires.

A hearing conservation program tests baseline hearing and then can monitor for hearing loss over time. Hearing loss due to exposure can cost an employer heavily in insurance and disability claims.

We offer quantitative respirator fit testing. This is a pass/fail method used on half-masks that relies on senses - such as taste and smell - to detect air leakage from your respirator.

Asbestosis and silicosis along with other medical conditions may occur in people that are exposed to dusts and hazardous materials in various occupations such as mining, construction, manufacturing, and building maintenance. Monitoring programs are mandated for some workers. We can help you stay in compliance.

Urine drug screens are available up to 2 hours prior to closing

During our conversation we’ll determine the appropriate tests for your workers and address insurance and billing questions.

We’ll choose testing and/or appointment times suitable to your employees schedule. Special arrangement for testing outside normal business hours might be available.

We will send text reminders to your employees two days before and the day of the appointment. You do not need to do anything.

You will receive the relevant test results between 3-7 business days. The majority of tests come in earlier, before 5 days.

How We Got Started
Guardian Occupational Health was started by longtime Spokane resident Peter Glanville back in 2019. Having already spent years working with his hands in roofing, carpentry, and farming, Peter transitioned into a career in healthcare in 2010.
His goal was simple: helping fellow blue-collar workers not only get back to work, but avoid disability well into old age with early intervention and proven recovery strategies.
Today, Peter and his team have created a unique healthcare offering through a combination of occupational medicine, integrative medicine, and exercise physiology.
As a result, Guardian Health is able to pursue its twofold mission: bullet proof protection from liability for businesses, while also providing specialized healthcare for truck drivers, firefighters, and the other industry workers building a better future for the Inland PNW.

We work primarily by appointment, making us fast and efficient. Walk-ins are welcome during business hours for drug and alcohol testing, respirator fit tests, hearing conservation, and PFTs. Our physical exams require Medical Examiner and have limited hours noted above.
